About Acne
Nearly everyone will experience some form of acne, and for
most it will cause little to no disturbance on their day to
day lives, but for tens of millions it can have crippling
effects. Acne comes in many shapes, sizes, and degrees of
power. It sometimes can cause significant pain and discomfort,
and also result in a disfigurement to the face and torso.
There are many treatments available to help subdue the effects
of acne, but before you can select the best product for your
condition it is important to have a general understanding
of just what acne is all about. For more detailed descriptions
please follow the links after each of the following.
What is acne?
In short, acne is a disorder of the hair follicles and sebaceous
glands. When excess oil is produced it can clog the pores
with dry skin cells, this clogging provides bacteria with
a breeding ground which can result in an outbreak of acne.

What causes acne?
There are a number of factors that contribute to acne, and
acne breakouts. Stress, Hormones, and Diet are strong contributing
factors to acne. Hormones released
during puberty, or during a women's menstrual system can contribute
significantly. While many experts disagree on diet, many believe
greasy foods, smoking, nuts, and other food products can contribute
to acne. There are a number of possible factors which may
contribute to acne.

What are the different types of acne?
There are a number of different types of acne. These include
baby acne, back acne, body acne, premenstrual acne, teen acne,
adult acne, cystic acne, acne rosacea, and acne vulgaris (the
most common type of acne). Before you decide which treatment
is best for you it is important to find out just which type
of acne you have. We want to stress that if your child has
baby acne, you most likely will not need to purchase any products,
instead wash the child's face at least once a day with water
or a mild baby soap. If the acne persists or worsens, contact
your physician.

How can acne be cured?
There are a number of over the counter, prescription, and
all natural products available to help reduce the effects
of acne, and in many cases remove it entirely. For extreme
cases of acne rosacea, and other forms of stubborn acne, prescription
products are sometimes needed, however, in most situations
all natural products such as Derma
Cleanse, Derma Pure,
and Natures
Drug Store's 'Acne
Solutions System' are highly effective and completely
free of side effects. Prescription products such as accutane
work extremely well but also result in a number of undesirable
